BHU UET 2014 - All about Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET) for admission 2014-15. The Banaras Hindu University shall conduct Undergraduate Entrance Tests, hereinafter called UET, during 3rd – 4th week of May, 2014 for admission to various Undergraduate Courses as given here under for the Session 2014-2015. Admissions will be made according to merit in the UET, subject to fulfilling of eligibility requirements mentioned below and availability of seats in the particular Course for which the candidate has applied for and appeared in the Test.

Application for Admission process has been closed on 25.03.2014 midnight (for UET, PET, SCS).

These Courses have been divided into "General Courses" and “Professional Courses”. All the Courses are conducted in the respective Faculties. In addition, some of the Courses are also conducted in Mahila Mahavidyalaya, BHU (MMV), Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Barkachha, (RGSC) Mirzapur and the Colleges admitted to the Privileges of the University Colleges in the city: Arya Mahila Post Graduate College, Chetganj (AMPGC); Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Kamachha (VKM); Vasanta College for Women, Rajghat (VCW) and DAV Post Graduate College, Ausanganj (DAVPGC). The total number of seats in various Courses are indicated in brackets where ‘M’ stands for Male only, ‘F’ for Female only, and ‘M&F’ indicates seats for Male and Female both.

How to fill Application Form: The Application Form for UET 2013 is available on the BHU’s entrance test portal (bhuonline.in). The application form is to be filled up online. Detailed instruction for filling up the application form, online payment of application fee and taking its printout for submission to the Controller of Examinations, BHU (in addition to online submission) is also provided on the BHU’s entrance test portal. Candidates have to scan their photo and signature as per instruction given in the portal and upload it.  After the candidate has filled up the application form online and clicks on the ‘CONFIRM’ button, he/she will be provided with following options for payment of application processing/test fee:  a) Online payment through credit card/ debit card through the payment gateway available on the Entrance test portal b) Payment of Entrance Test Fee in Cash through “Challan” in any branch of HDFC Bank After filling up the application form and its submission, the Challan can be printed from the portal. The printout of challan will contain all necessary details of the candidate and the bank account details of the Banaras Hindu University in which the entrance test fee will be deposited. The candidate will be required to visit any branch of the HDFC Bank of his/her choice where he/she will be required to deposit the requisite Fee amount to the Bank and the bank will retain one fold of the Challan and remaining two folds of the Challan mentioning the necessary Test Fee payment details will be given to the candidate. The candidate is required to retain one part of the challan for his record and the other will be required to be submitted alongwith the printout of the online filled up application form in the manner prescribed in Section 12. In this mode, it will take 24 hours to update the Entrance Test Portal regarding confirmation of successful payment of Test Fee made by the candidate. Therefore, a candidate who has exercised this option for payment of Application Processing Fee/ Test Fee shall be able to take a printout of the ONLINE filled up application form only after 24 hours from the time he/she has paid Fee in any branch of HDFC. The UET Application Form shall be treated to have been successfully submitted only after the candidate has paid the Application Processing Fee/ Entrance Test Fee through either of the two modes given above. Once the successful payment is confirmed, [instantly-in case option a) is exercised and after 24 hours-in case option b) is exercised], a copy of the filledup application form will be e-mailed to the candidate’s registered e-mail id for download and print. After online submission of application form and successful payment of Application Processing/ Test Fee, the candidate will be required to take a printout of the online filled up application form (containing the details he has filled in and the transaction details of payment of application fee) from either the Entrance Test portal or his e-mail account. After taking the printout of the online submitted application form, following steps need to be taken: i) Paste passport size photograph (same passport size photograph which has been used for online submission) in the space provided on the printout of the online filled up application form. ii) Affix signature in the space provided using a blue/black ball pen.
How to download Admit Card:
  • The Admit Card will be e-mailed to the candidate at the email addresses provided by the candidate in the application form around 7-10 May 2014. SMS alert regarding issue of Admit Card on the mobile phone registered by the candidate will also be sent. Therefore the candidates are advised to give correct e-mail addresses/ mobile phone numbers for correspondence while filling up the online application form. Alternatively, Candidates can download the ADMIT CARD from the BHU Entrance Test Portal (bhuonline.in) on or after 07th May 2013 by providing the unique code allotted to them at the time of online submission of application form. If a candidate is unable to download the Admit Card till a week before the date of the Test, he/she should contact the Office of the Controller of Examinations, BHU, Varanasi on Phone No. 0542-2368418.
  • Paste passport size photograph (same passport size photograph which has been used for online submission) in the space provided on the printout of the Admit Card and self-attest it.
Admission Procedure: The admission of a candidate in a course will be done only when he/she satisfies all the eligibility requirements, appears in the UET, qualifies in the Entrance Test and completes all formalities required for admission in the course. The admissions shall be made strictly on the basis of merit index in the UET, availability of seats in the course, as per rules given in this Information Bulletin and rules framed by the University from time to time.  The admission process will begin after the declaration of UET results. The admission will be done by the Admission Committees of the respective departments. The concerned Dean/Principal will e-mail call letters to the candidates for Counseling. Therefore the candidates are advised to give correct e-mail addresses for correspondence. Candidates may also note that there will be no postal dispatch of call letter. The number of call letters will be nearly two-four times the number of seats available in the course. Admission is based strictly on merit index obtained in the Entrance Test. Candidates must have in their possession all the original documents mentioned above [if not seeking conditional admission under provision 3(i) above]. However, Marksheet downloaded from the Website of the concerned examining body (subject to verification by the Admission Committee), CONFIDENTIAL MARKSHEETS or PROVISIONAL RESULTS issued by the Registrar/ Controller of Examinations of the concerned University or Secretary of the concerned Board (in case qualifying examination is of Senior Secondary level) shall also be entertained at the time of admission. Failure to pay the fees within the prescribed period given in the admission letter will result in cancellation of the allotted seat.  The admission process will begin soon after the declaration of UET results. Admission to B.A. (Hons.) Arts, B.A. (Hons.) Social Sciences and B.Com. (Hons.)/B. Com. (Hons.) Financial Markets Management and B.Ed./B.Ed. (Spl.) will be done by Central Admission Committees to be constituted for the purpose and will be carried out in the respective Faculties/Mahila Mahavidyalaya. The concerned Dean/Principal will e-mail call letters to the candidates for Counseling. Therefore the candidates are advised to give correct e-mail addresses for correspondence. Candidates may also note that there will be no postal dispatch of call letter. The number of call letters will be nearly two-four times the number of seats available in the course. Centralized Admission procedure will be adopted for Colleges admitted to the Privileges of the University Colleges as well. Admission to other Courses will be done by Admission Committees in the respective Faculties. The Centralized Admission Committees will adopt the method of counselling followed by ‘on the spot’ allocation of seat, subject combination and the institution as per candidate’s choice strictly according to merit index obtained in UET. In the case of female candidates in B.A. (Hons.) in Arts/Social Sciences, the Central Admission Committee will carryout the admissions in Mahila Mahavidyalaya, BHU. However, for female candidates seeking admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mahila Mahavidyalaya, the Central Admission Committee for Science will carryout the admissions in the Faculty of Science, BHU. Candidates must have in their possession all original documents such as High School Mark sheet and Certificate, Inter or equivalent Mark sheet and Certificate (if issued), Certificate of Reservation, Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate (if issued by the Board) and ADMIT CARD OF THE RESPECTIVE ENTRANCE TEST at the time of admission failing which their admission shall not be considered. An important notification regarding online and offline application forms for Uttar Pradesh Combined Medical Entrance Test (UPCMET) 2014 has been released by Uttar Pradesh Unaided Medical Colleges Welfare Association (UPUMCWA) for admissions in the private medical colleges across Uttar Pradesh.

Admission to Undergraduate (MBBS/BDS) Courses – 2014

The candidates seeking admission to MBBS/BDS Course 2014 in the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU must register themselves online in the prescribed application form available on the BHU website (www.bhu.ac.in/ims) alongwith the processing fee. However, the admission will be done on the basis of their merit in the AIPMT – 2014 examination.

All candidates eligible for AIPMT – 2014 are eligible for registering themselves irrespective of their State of domicile.

The applications uploaded after the last date on any account will not be registered.

The candidates who have registered for admission to MBBS/BDS course 2014 must submit their score card of AIPMT 2014 within 15 days after declaration of their results to the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.

Tentative counselling for admission to UG Courses (MBBS/BDS) will be held on 4th July, 2014. Individual letters to the successful candidates based on their rank in the AIPMT 2014 will be sent by Registered post/Speed Post giving the exact date of counselling. The candidates are advised to check the BHU/IMS website from time totime for updates.

For 15% seats of total 84 MBBS seats i.e. 13 seats, candidates would be admitted through All India Quota (for central counselling) and the remaining 85% i.e. 71 seats will be filled up through IMS, BHU counselling. The distribution of the 71 seats amongst the different categories is as follows:

General – 36, OBC – 19, SC-11 & ST – 05                    Total – 71 seats

2 seats – 3% reservation of PC candidates will be given horizontally as per Government of India norms.

Of total 50 BDS seats to be filled up through IMS BHU counselling, the distribution of the seats amongst the different categories is as follows:

General – 25, OBC – 13, SC – 08 & ST – 04  Total – 50 seats

1 Seat – 3% reservation of PC candidates will be given horizontally as per Government of India norms.



Those students who have not got registered with the Director, IMS,BHU will not be considered for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses 2014 through IMS, BHU Counselling. However, mere registration does not guarantee admission to MBBS/BDS courses 2014.

What all do you need to complete the Online application process for BHU ?
As an applicant you would need the following:

If data provided in the online application cannot be supported by suitable documents then your application / claim for admission can be summarily rejected.

BHU D.M. / M.Ch. Admission 2014

 ELIGIBILITY:

D.M.       : Medical graduates holding the degree of M.D. (Medicine) or M.D. (Paediatrics) or DNB in respective subjects or equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India.

M.Ch. : M.S. /DNB (Surgery) or equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India. For the Surgical Oncology, the candidates having MS/DNB in ENT, orthopedics and Obstetrics andGynaecology are also eligible.

For the above courses the candidates must  have passed  the MD/MS/DNB Examination on or before 31st May 2014.

DURATION AND RECOGNITION OF THE COURSE:

 a)         Duration of DM/MCh course is 3 years

b)        The degrees of M.Ch. (Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology) and DM (Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology) are recognized by the Medical Council of India.

The recognition of other degrees is under process.

SPONSORED CATEGORY

 i) For sponsored category seats, only those candidates who are in permanent service of any Government or statutory body are eligible.

ii) They must apply with a sponsorship certificate on the format given in the application form (duly signed by the Employer with date, designation and seal) that he/she is being sponsored for undergoing the course applied for and that he/she will get leave for the full three years duration of the course, with full pay or half pay, and the assurance that after completion of the course he/she will be taken back in service by the employer concerned.

 SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS:

 i)        The eligible candidate may apply online by filling up all the entries of application form.

ii)       A candidate can apply and appear for one subject only either for regular residency seat or for the sponsored category.

iii)      Scanned copies of all the mark sheets / certificates / degrees / registration number and other documents (from High School to MD/MS/DNB) must be uploaded along with application form.

iv)      Candidates who are in service of Government/Semi Government/Statutory Body must upload along with application the scanned copy of endorsement certificate of the Employer on the proforma as provided in the application form.

v)       Duly completed application must be accompanied with online payment of Rs.2500/- (Rupees two thousand five hundred only) towards examination fees and is not refundable in any case. Applications without thisonline payment will not be accepted.

vi)      The completed application form in all respects along with all necessary enclosures should be uploaded at BHU Web Sites www.bhu.ac.in & www.imsbhu.nic.in on or before Monday, 10th May 2014, 5.00 PM.

vii)     Incomplete applications in any respect will be summarily rejected and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Applications (even if complete) received after the last date will not be entertained on any ground.

iii)      The passport size photograph must be self attested, snapped with front profile, showing full head, face, shoulder and with both ears and taken without wearing any Cap/Hat/Sun glasses. Photographs must be taken on or after 31st December 2013 with a placard indicating the date and name of the candidate.

iv)      Provisional admit card shall be sent by registered post to the candidate. If an eligible candidate does not receive the admit card, he/she may contact the office of the director, IMS, BHU Varanasi on 5th July, 2013 between 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM along with 2 copies of self attested passport size photograph identical to those uploadedin original application form.

Duplicate admit card will NOT be issued on the day of the examination i.e. on 06th July, 2014

EVALUATION:

i)    A single Common Entrance Test would be held for both categories i.e. Regular (Residency) and Sponsored for DM/MCh courses subject wise.

ii)   The test paper will consist of 100 objective type questions and the paper will be of 100 minutes duration. The questions will be 100 percent subject wise as applicable to the Super Specialty discipline. A separate question paper will be prepared for each Super Specialty discipline (e.g. each for DM courses, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology and Neurology; and MCh courses, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Surgical Oncology and Urology).

iii)  Four marks will be awarded for every correct answer. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answer.

iv)The eligibility criteria for the qualified candidates will be 50 percentile.

v)   No scrutiny/revaluation of the answer sheet of the admission test shall be allowed on any ground.

vi)  There are no reservation criteria for any super specialty seats.

SELECTION:

Common merit list will be declared on Institute Notice Board & posted on the BHU/IMS web site wwwbhu.ac.in & wwwimsbhu.nic.in

i)          The candidates will be selected for registration/ admission strictly based on merit in the written test. In case of equal marks at the test the inter-se-ranking of the candidates shall be determined in the following order:-

(a)   In case of candidates having equal marks at the test the merit shall be decided on the basis of number of failures at the MD/MS/DNB examination. One mark will be deducted out of the marks obtained by the candidates in the written test for each failure.

(b)    In case of candidates having equal marks vice (a) above the merit shall be decided on the basis of percentage of aggregate or marks obtained by the candidates in MBBS (Final Examination).

(c)   In case of candidates having equal marks vice (b) above, the merit shall be decided on the basis of percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in Medicine (for selection to D.M. course) and Surgery (for selection to M.Ch. course) in the MBBS examination.

(d)   If the marks at the above vice (c) happen to be the same the date of birth would be the basis i.e. the candidate senior in the age would rank higher.

GENERAL:

 i)       The sponsored/deputed applicants will be treated as supernumerary candidates and in case of their selection and registration/admission and joining for the course, they will not get any payment from the Institute/University.

ii)      No private practice of any kind shall be permitted during the entire duration of the DM / MCh course.

iii)     The decision of the Director, IMS, BHU, shall be final and binding on the candidate in respect of the Admission test.

iv)      The selected candidates will be have to appear before the admission committee for counseling and also required to sign a bond on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.100/- (to be purchased from Varanasi or any district of State of Uttar Pradesh) on the format to be supplied by the Directorate before he/she is permitted to join the course.

v)      The admission and continuance of Registration/Residency of the candidate shall be subject to the BHU Act, Statutes, Ordinance, Rules and Regulations and orders as may be applicable from time to time and the aforesaid bond. The registration/ admission may be cancelled without any notice if the supervisor ofthe Department is not satisfied with the work and/or conduct of the candidate.

vi)      The decision of the Postgraduate Medical Board, Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, in all the matters of admission/registration shall be final and binding on the candidate.

vii)     Mere submission of application and appearing and qualifying in the test will not entitle the candidates to claim admission in any of the above course. The candidates must note that if it is found that he/she is not eligible the Directorate will not issue the Admit Card and without any responsibility in this regard.

viii)    No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the Admission test, and for joining the course.

ix)      No scrutiny/revaluation of the answer book of the test shall be allowed on any ground.

x)       Candidate will have to submit documentary proof at the time of admission that their medical degrees are recognized by MCI.

BHU PAT 2014

The Banaras Hindu University will hold All India COMPETITIVE WRITTEN TEST i.e. PAT-2014 for admission to BAMS course (60 seats*), B. Pharm (Ay.) course (30 seats) and BNYS Course (30 seats). PAT-2014 shall be held on Sunday, the 6th July, 2014 at Varanasi, Delhi# , Kolkata# and Hyderabad# centers. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the PAT-2014 only.

* Number of seats in BAMS course may be increased/decreased subject to the approval of Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM)/Dept. of AYUSH, Govt. of India. # Subject to the availability of minimum 500 numbers of candidates.

BAMS course will be held at Faculty of Ayurveda, IMS, BHU, Varanasi. B.Pharm (Ay.) and BNYS course will be held at Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, BHU, Barkachha, Mirzapur (Under special course of study i.e. self financing)

ELIGIBILITY: Qualifications: Passed intermediate/10+2 or equivalent examination in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology + Botany) taken together for BAMS/B.Pharm (Ay.)/BNYS- a minimum of 50% of marks for General and 45% for General PC candidates, 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) and respective PC candidates. Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination may also apply.

AGE: Completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December 2014. Only those candidates whose date of birth falls between 1st January 1990 and 31st December 1997 (both dates inclusive) are eligible. Those Candidates born on or before 31st December, 1989 and on or after 1st January, 1998 are not eligible.

How can Apply for BHU PAT 2014?

1:- Candidate who fulfils the above eligibility requirements shall apply online at wwwformzero.in/imsbhu in the prescribed application form for BHU-PAT-2014 and shall be required to appear in the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Banaras Hindu University for the purpose of admission to the first year B.A.M.S., / B. Pharm. (Ay) / B.N.Y.S. course.

2:- LAST DATE &TIME FOR SUBMISSION OF COMPLETED ONLINE APPLICATION FORMS: Saturday, 31 – 05 – 2014, 11.59 PM (23 hours 59 minutes).

TEST FEES: Rs. 1200/- for Gen/OBC and Rs. 800/- for SC/ST candidates to be paid online as per the guidelines detailed during submission of completed application form through online.

FILLING OF ONLINE APPLICATION FORM: To apply online the candidate should have a valid e-mail ID. With that e-mail ID the candidate has to register at wwwformzero.in/imsbhu. Then the candidate has to follow the instructions given by the web page for filling up the application form.

PAYMENT OF APPLICATION FEE: Rs. 1200/- for GEN/OBC and Rs. 800/- for SC/ST candidates The candidate has to follow the given guidelines and instructions on that web page to pay the fee through online banking by using credit / debit card (ATM card) / internet banking. The candidate who does not have online facility may deposit the fees through challan as per the guideline of the web page.

PROVISIONAL ADMIT CARD: It will be emailed to the candidate’s registered email-id and the same has to be printed by the candidate. He/She has to paste a photograph at the space provided. The photograph should be identical to the photograph scanned and uploaded while applying online. Only with this PROVISIONAL ADMIT CARD the candidate will be allowed to appear in the entrance test PAT – 2014.

There shall be single paper containing 200 (Two Hundred) objective type of questions in English and in Hindi. The competitive entrance Test BHU-PAT-2014 (BAMS/B. Pharm. (Ay)/ BNYS ENTRANCE TEST) will be of three hours (3 hrs) duration inclusive of time for filling in answer sheet and checking of question booklet in first fifteen minutes. The Banaras Hindu University will hold, All India written competitive Entrance examination for admission to the course of B.Sc Nursing in College of Nursing, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi for session commencing from July/August 2014, on Sunday, 15th June, 2014 (10:00A.M. to 12:00 Noon) at Varanasi.

Entrance Examination Fee of Rs 1000/- for General/OBC Candidates, Rs 600/- for SC/ST category to be paid online as per instruction given on online application.

Eligibility: Applicant should be an Indian national, and have completed 17 years but not crossed 25 years as on 31st December 2014.

AGE: The candidates should be 17 to 25 years of age as on 31st  December 2014

Educational Qualification : Intermediate / 10+2 or equivalent with science subjects (Physics, Chemistry. Biology) and English from a recognized Board / University with minimum of 50% aggregate marks (PCBE) for the General Category, and 40% for OBC (non­creamy layer)/SC/ST. Those who are appearing for the Intermediate or equivalent examination but the results are not declared shall be permitted to appear in the Entrance Test. However, they will be required to submit original mark sheet of the Intermediate or equivalent examination at the time of counseling to the office of the Director, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi–221005, without which their candidature for admission shall not be considered.

Procedure: Candidates can only apply online at BHU website wwwbhu.ac.in/ims . Information Bulletin and Online application will be available in the website from 04.04.2014.

Application Form:

1:- Applicants have to apply and submit online Application Form available in BHU website i.e. wwwbhu.ac.in/ims, or wwwformzero.in/imsbhu The prescribed Application Form will be available in the website from 04.04.2014 to 04.05.2014.

2:- Applicants have to register to this site in order to access the Application Form. To register at this site candidate must have a valid email id. Therefore Applicants are advised to open an email account in their name, which is required and is mandatory for registration in the site. After registration to this site candidate have to select B.Sc Nursing Entrance examination Form and fill details in the respective fields. Procedure to filling up the application form will be provided in the website

3:- The duly completed filled up application form should be accompanied with entrance examination fee which is Rs.1000.00 for General/OBC category and Rs. 600.00 for SC/ST category. Online payment of entrance examination fee can be through, Debit card, Credit card, Internet banking or through Challan as per instruction given in website.

4:- The last date of Submission of Completed Application Form through the website is 04th May 2014, 11:59 PM

5:- Provisional Admit Card will generated and sent to the email id of the candidate

 Selection Criteria:

THE WRITTEN ENTRANCE TEST SHALL BE HELD AT THE EXAMINATION CENTRES. BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY VARANASI ON THE DATE AND MONTH AS PUBLISIIED IN THE ADVERTISEMENT IN NEWSPAPERS.

1:- The question paper of the written Entrance Test will have 100 'Multiple Choice Questions' (each carrying 4 marks from Physics, Chemistry. Botany & Zoology (25 questions each) having maximum marks 400 with time duration of 2 hours. There will be “NO” negative marking for incorrect answers.

2:- Minimum qualifying marks in written entrance examination: The minimum percentage of marks to qualify the written examination shall be will be 50% for General category and 40% for OBC (non­creamy layer)/SC/ST

3:- Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained anywhere in the ordinances of the university, no scrutiny / revaluation of the answer sheet shall be allowed on any ground

4:- The Roll Number of only Provisionally Selected Candidates shall be displayed on the websites of IMS,BHU (www.bhu.ac.in/ims) and also on notice board of Institute of Medical Sciences, and office of the PRO, BHU.They will also be informed individually through Registered Post. However, the Institute shall not be responsible for any postal delay or loss of correspondence in Postal Transit

5:- The candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the Written Entrance Test conducted for the purpose. In case of candidates obtaining equal marks in the Written Entrance Test, their inter se merit shall be decided in the following order

a) Candidates securing higher marks obtained in zoology section of entrance test­ 2014.

b) Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Botany section of entrance test­ 2014.

c) Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Chemistry section of entrance test­ 2014

d) Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Physics section of entrance test­ 2014

e) If all above happen to be same, the candidate senior in each would rank higher.
